Davenport, Fla. – Northern State baseball split their two most recent games in the RussMatt Invitational in Florida. The Wolves earned a 6-4 come from behind victory over Notre Dame (Ohio) on Saturday night but fell 8-3 in Sunday's match-up with Minnesota Crookston.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Notre Dame scored the first four runs of the game, scoring two runs in the second inning, one in the fourth, and one in the fifth inning
- Northern State erupted for four runs on six hits in the sixth inning, tying the game at four
- Reece Ragatz started the scoring for the Wolves when he hit a two RBI single to left field, scoring Jack Paulson and Karson Hesser
- Two at bats latter, Niko Pezonella knotted the game up at four with another two RBI single to left field which scored Kai Brisk and Ragatz
- The two teams were held scoreless for the next five innings, until the game reached the 12th inning
- Northern scored the game winning run in the top of the 12th inning when Brisk singled to score Paulson; NSU added one final run in the inning when Spencer Sarringar singled to score Ragatz
- The Wolves scored their six runs on 14 hits, and did not commit an error defensively
- Brenden Baxter recorded his first collegiate win on the mound, pitching eight innings in relief for the Wolves

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- Minnesota Crookston scored the first seven runs of the game, scoring one run in the second inning, two in the third, and four in the fourth inning
- Northern State was able to get on the scoreboard in the fifth inning when Spencer Sarringar singled to right field and scored Isaiah Chevalier; Niko Pezonella scored an unearned run later in the inning to bring the score to 7-2
- Pezonella drove in the final run of the game for the Wolves in the seventh inning when he hit a double to score Jack Paulson
- The Golden Eagles capped the scoring in the game in the eighth inning Jake Hjelle recorded an RBI single to score Paxton Nelson
- The Wolves scored their three runs on seven hits, and committed two errors defensively
- Zach Carolin suffered the loss on the mound for Northern; he went three innings in the starting appearance, allowing four hits and two earned runs, while throwing four strikeouts
