Track and Field Opens Competition in Fargo with Top-10 Finishes

Fargo, N.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams opened the first day of the NDSU Bison Open with six top-10 finishes and one event win. In addition, two Wolves sit in the top-10 heading into the second day of multi competition.
 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jackson Willis and Maxwell Geditz sit in ninth and tenth with 2,542 and 2,513 points respectively in the heptathlon
  • Willis tallied marks of 7.54 in the 60m, 6.67m in the long jump, 9.60m in the shot put, and 1.82m in the high jump, while Geditz notched marks of 7.62 in the 60m, 6.03m in the long jump, 10.17m in the shot put, and 1.94m in the high jump
  • Isaac Olson tallied a ninth place finish in the 300m with a time of 38.02
  • Tanner Berg and Nick Olson led the throwing crew with second and seventh place finishes in the weight, notching marks of 21.53m and 16.00m respectively
  • McCaden Anderson notched a 13th place finish in the weight, tossing 14.17m behind his teammates
 
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Sierra Sweeney took 14th for the Wolves in the pentathlon, notching 2,720 points with marks of 10.08 in the 60m hurdles, 1.41m in the high jump, 7.87m in the shot put, 4.93m in the long jump, and 2:40.38 in the 800m
  • Summer Carlson finished as the runner-up in the 600m, crossing the finish line if 1:38.80
  • The distance medley relay team of Jennifer Clark, Vanessa Klein, Mary Franssen, and Megan Mooberry won the race with a time of 12:40.99
  • Cassidy Gough rounded out the top-10 of the weight throw, tossing 15.88m, followed by Rachel Guthmiller in 15th with a 13.73m toss
