Topeka, Kan. – The Northern State baseball team dropped the series finale to Washburn on Monday afternoon, 7-3. The Wolves and Ichabods traded the lead back-and-forth throughout the first three innings of the game; however, runs in fifth and eighth innings earned Washburn the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Washburn scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning when Tyler Clark-Chiapparelli hit a solo homerun to left field
- Northern State had a quick response to take the lead with two runs in the top of the second inning; Ramon Vega Jr. scored when Brandon Kusler hit a single, and Reece Ragatz scored when Austin Portner was caught stealing
- The Ichabods added two more runs in the bottom of the second, Zion Bowlin scored on a ground out by Cale Savage and Kros Bay crossed home plate on a double by Otto Jones
- Alex Gauer tied the game at three for Northern on a single to right field by Spencer Sarringar in the top of the third inning
- Washburn added four more runs to end the game, scoring one in the third, two in the fifth, and one in the eighth inning
- The Wolves scored their three runs on six hits and did not commit an error defensively
- Mike Stubbs got the start on the mound for Northern, pitching 2.0 innings while allowing three earned runs on three hits; Christian Mundt suffered the loss for NSU, pitching 2.1 innings while allowing three earned runs on one hit
- Andrew Pugliano pitched 2.2 scoreless innings in relief for Northern State and stuck out one batter
