Canyon, Texas – The Northern State University softball team closed out the weekend from Texas with a 5-1 victory over Texas Permian Basin. The Wolves return to Aberdeen with a 5-4 record overall, following their 1-4 weekend against nationally ranked opponents.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern jumped out to a 2-0 in their first at-bats of the contest as Avarie Eagle score Alexandria Arndt on a single through the left side, and Liv Richardson scored Eagle on a single up the middle
- Eagle extended the Wolves lead in the third with a long ball to right field, scoring Shelby Novotny to tallied a 1-out single up the middle
- Kamdyn Barrientos jumped on the homerun train in the fourth, hitting her first of the season to left
- UT Permian Basin tallied their lone run of the contest in the bottom of the sixth
- NSU scored their five runs on eight hits without giving up an error defensively
- Meghan Anderson threw her third win of the season, striking out 14 in seven innings of work
- Four of the Wolves eight hits went for extra bases and Anderson gave up just one free pass to the Falcons
