Canyon, Texas – The Northern State University softball team struggled to come back from early deficits Saturday evening, falling to (RV) Texas A&M-Commerce and No. 5 West Texas. Northern slides to 4-4 on the year, heading into the final contest of the weekend tomorrow.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Texas A&M-Commerce took a 3-0 lead through the first three complete
- Liv Richardson plated Alexandria Arndt on a single to left in the top of the fourth for Northern's first and only run of the contest
- The Lions added four more runs in the bottom of the frame and added two in the fifth, sealing the run-rule victory
- Northern scored one run on four hits and did not give up an error defensively
- Reagan Elrod suffered the loss for NSU, throwing 4.1 innings with nine earned runs and nine hits

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- West Texas took an early lead with two runs in the top of the first and broke things open in the sixth with ten runs
- Alexandria Arndt tallied her first homerun of the season in the bottom of the sixth to left field
- The Wolves were unable to push across another four runs and extend the contest
- Northern notched one run on six hits with one error defensively
- Meghan Anderson started for NSU, giving up 12 earned runs on 15 hits in her second loss of the season
