Track and Field Season Gets Underway Tomorrow

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams open the 2022-23 season from the confines of the Barnett Center. The Wolves are set to host the NSU open with pole vault beginning at 10 a.m. and running events at 12:30 p.m. versus Dakota Wesleyan and Jamestown.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • Northern State was picked sixth (men) and seventh (women) in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll released yesterday morning
  • Jackson Harrison and Glen Quayle tallied athlete to watch honors for the men, while Renea Taylor and Kenzee Danielson were picked for the women
  • Harrison broke two indoor school records last season and was an all-conference honoree in the 5000m
  • Quayle won the NSIC Indoor Championship in the pole vault, breaking the school record, and became an NCAA All-American taking 12th in the event
  • Danielson is perennially a top contender in the pole vault in the NSIC, taking eighth at the league championships last season
  • Taylor tallied a seventh place podium finish in the 400m at the NSIC Indoor Championships last season
