Fan Primer: Northern State Set for Split Week with North Dakota Opponents

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men’s basketball team will host the University of Mary on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. and travel to Minot State on Saturday for a 3 p.m. match-up with the Beavers this week.

Game Specific Promotions

  • Thursday is National Pie Day and will feature a pie eating contest at halftime
    • Fans can sign-up to participate when the enter Wachs Arena

 

Entrances to the Facility & Gate Opening Times

Fans will be able to enter the Barnett Center through both the north and south doors. Access to the south entrance is available through both Dakota Bank Stadium entrances off South State Street and 15th Ave SE. Ticket gates will be located at both the north and south doors of the Barnett Center, and will open one hour prior to tip-off for all general admission and same day ticket sales. Gates will open one hour prior to tip-off each game day. 

 

Online Ticketing

Wolves Club season tickets and general admission passes can be purchased online at nsuwolves.universitytickets.com or at the gate on game day. The fully automated system allows fans to select their seat for game day with tickets sent directly to your email or mobile device. Pricing for season and single game tickets is available at nsuwolves.com/tickets. Senior and youth tickets are only available for purchase at the gate on game days. All game day ticket sales will be available at both the North and South entrances of the Barnett Center. The Northern State passbook will be located at the north doors of the Barnett Center, individuals must sign in via the far right line at the ticket gate. There is no re-entry into the facility.

Current Northern State University students will receive one free ticket to all home sporting events throughout the 2022-23 academic. Information on how to claim student tickets will be distributed via email. 

 

Parking

The first three rows of parking in the Barnett Center main lot will be reserved for Wolves Club members with an annual parking pass, with free parking for all fans available in the following rows to the North.

 

Concessions and Team Store

The Northern State concession stands are operated by Sodexo and offer a wide range of options for fans of all ages. Enjoy an ice-cold Coca-Cola product, bite into a soft pretzel with cheese, a world famous Wolf dog, or walking taco. Don’t forget to grab a freshly made popcorn or batch of Wisconsin cheese curds from one of the concession stands near you at all home Wolves athletic events. In addition, Sodexo supports local non-profits through a variety of opportunities. Contact NSU Dining Services at 605-626-2928 to learn more. 

The NSU Nike Team Store will be open in its main Barnett Center location on game day, opening one hour prior to tip-off.

(RV) NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

  • Northern holds a 5-2 record overall and 1-0 mark in the NSIC thus far and will match-up against the Marauders in their sixth straight home game
  • The Wolves are averaging 82.1 points, 33.1 rebounds, 16.9 assists, 11.7 turnovers, 5.1 steals, and 2.9 blocks per game
  • NSU is shooting 49.9% from the floor, 38.1% from the 3-point line, and 81.7% from the free throw line this season
  • Sam Masten leads four Wolves averaging double figures, notching 19.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game with a 58.1 field goal percentage
  • Jordan Belka is adding 15.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest, while Jacksen Moni and Augustin Reede are chipping in with 13.8 and 13.3 points respectively
  • Reede leads the team shooting 59.2% from the floor and 56.8% from beyond the arc with 25 made 3-pointers
  • Josh Dilling stepped into a starting role last week and is adding 8.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game 

 

UNIVERSITY OF MARY STORYLINES

  • The University of Mary enters the week with a 4-0 record overall and 1-0 mark in the NSIC
  • The Marauders are averaging 79.3 points, 44.8 rebounds, 20.5 assists, 16.3 turnovers, 6.5 steals, and 3.3 blocks per game this season
  • Mary is shooting 45.3% from the floor, 40.7% from the 3-point line, and 66.7% from the foul line
  • Zyon Smith leads three in double figures, notching 12.8 points per game, while Gertautas Urbonavicius and Jeremiah Jones follow with 10.3 and 10.0 respectively
  • Lucas Mayer is shooting a team best 56.5% from the floor, while Urbonavicius leads the team from beyond the arc shooting at a 66.7 clip
  • Jones is the team leader on the glass, averaging 8.3 boards per contest, and has dished out a team high 22 assists
  • The Marauders are led by head coach Jack Nelson in his second season

  • The Wolves swept the Marauders in 2021-22 with game scores of 78-70 on the road and 82-49 at home
