Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University Athletic Department closed out 2021 with over 400 student-athletes recording a cumulative grade point average of 3.2. The Wolves student-athletes continued their success in the classroom, holding a term GPA of above a 3.0 for the 27th consecutive semester.
Northern State volleyball led the way in the department with a 3.8 semester mark, followed by women's cross country and soccer with averages of 3.7 and 3.6. Swimming, women's track and field, and softball followed with marks of 3.4, 3.3, and 3.2, while baseball and women's basketball each recorded a semester average of 3.1. Men's basketball and wrestling rounded out the programs with a 3.0 GPA for the fall of 2021.
In addition, 80 student-athletes across the department's intercollegiate athletic programs tallied a 4.0 term GPA. In total, ten of the department's programs recorded a semester average above a 3.0 (listed below).
