UMary Thorson Open Up Next for Wolves Track and Field

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men's and women's track and field teams kick-off 2022 tomorrow at the University of Mary Thorson Open. Competition begins at 11 a.m. from Bismarck.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • Both the Northern State men and women are coming off fourth place finishes at the SDSU Holiday Open in early December
  • NSU opened the year picked fourth (men) and fifth (women) in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Polls
  • Recording top-5 finishes for the Wolves from SDSU were Noah Bayer (60m), Brady Janssen (300m H), Jackson Harrison (3000m), Tafara Hondonga (400m), Darrian Hood (long jump), Glen Quayle (pole vault), Shona Juliana (long jump), Kealy Hill (pole vault), and Megan Mooberry (3000m)
  • Tanner Berg also tallied an event win in the weight throw with a provisional mark of 20.74m
  • Juliana recorded an event victory in the triple jump, breaking the school record with a 12.2m mark
 
WOLVES WITH NATIONAL MARKS
  • Tanner Berg is ranked second nationally in the weight throw with a provisional mark of 20.74m, and also ranks 20th in the shot put with a 16.25m toss
  • Shona Juliana sits in ninth in the triple jump with her provisional mark of 12.02m and 23rd in the long jump with a 5.61m mark
  • Jackson Harrison is ranked 14th in the 3000m with his time of 8:34.92
  • Glen Quayle is currently 19th in the pole vault, clearing 4.70m
 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
  • Juliana broke the triple jump school record at the SDSU Holiday Open with a mark of 12.02m; the previous record of 11.46m was set by Monique Ryckman in 1987
