Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University swim team will begin the second half of their 2021-22 schedule when they travel to take part in the Dragon Invite. This will be the Wolves first time competing in the pool since November 20^th at the Augustana Mid-Season Meet.
 
MEET & FAN INFORMATION

• Live Video will be available on both days of the invite
• The meet will be held at the Hulbert Aquatic Center in West Fargo, North Dakota
• Competition begins at 5 p.m. on Friday; Saturday will have two sessions with competition beginning at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• Northern State last competed November 18-20 at the Augustana Mid-Season Meet, where they placed seventh out of 13 teams with 245 points and fifth out of seven NSIC schools competing
• In the meet at Augustana the Wolves recorded four lifetime personal bests to go along with 99 season best times
• On the final day of the invite Maddie Gonzales and Lauren Forsyth notched top-5 finishes, Gonzales was fourth in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.31 and Forsyth was fourth in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.52
• Gonzales and Forsyth's times in the 200 yard backstroke and 200 yard butterfly finals each rank as third best in the NSIC in their respective events this season
• The top Northern State relay team was the 800 yard freestyle team of Brianna Back, Fanny Legros, Connor Doran, and Haley Osborne, who swam to a tenth place finish in a time of 7:57.40
• The 800 yard freestyle relay time of 7:57.40 for NSU ranks as the ninth best time in the NSIC for that event this season

OTHER TEAMS COMPETITING

• There are six teams taking part in this weekend's invite: Concordia-St. Paul, Concordia Moorhead, MSU Moorhead, Minnesota Morris, Northern State, and UMary
• In the Augustana Mid-Season Meet the Wolves placed ahead of Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota Morris, while finishing one spot behind UMary who was in sixth
