Wolves Host Golden Bears and Mavericks on Homecoming Weekend

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's soccer program will host a pair of conference matches as a part of homecoming weekend. On Friday, October 1, the Wolves will welcome Concordia-St. Paul, followed by Minnesota State on Sunday, October 3.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • Northern State enters Friday's match-up with Concordia-St. Paul with a record of 3-2-1 (2-1-1 NSIC)
  • Last weekend the Wolves went 1-0-1 in NSIC action, defeating Wayne State 2-1 and tying with Augustana 1-1
  • Lilja Davidsdottir scored her first two career goals last weekend, netting the game-winner over Wayne State in the 54th minute and the game-tying goal against Augustana in the 81st minute
  • In the draw against the Vikings, goalkeeper Alexus Townsend tied her season high for saves in a game with ten
  • NSU is currently in a four-way tie for sixth place in the conference, along with Minnesota State, Concordia-St. Paul, and St. Cloud State
  • Starting this weekend, the Wolves next four contests will be against teams that are currently tied for sixth place or better in the conference (vs. Concordia-St. Paul, vs. Minnesota State, at Minot State, at UMary)
  • Northern State is tied for second in two statistical categories in league play, goals forced (8) and scoring average (2.000)

  • Concordia-St. Paul enters Friday's game with a record of 3-3-1 (2-1-1 NSIC)
