Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State baseball team fell twice to Upper Iowa University on Friday from Fossum Field. The Wolves tallied 12 runs and 19 hits in the two games, however were unable to seal a victory.

Game 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a high scoring affair in game one, with Upper Iowa holding a lead throughout
- The Peacocks tallied three runs in the first, two runs in the second and third, four runs in the fourth and fifth, and one run in the seventh
- Northern fought back with two runs in the third, four in the fourth, and three in the seventh, however it was not enough to take the lead
- Ben Carolin plated the runs for the Wolves in the third on a long ball to right center; Austin Portner scored on the play
- NSU tallied a big fourth inning with runs from Karson Hesser, Isaiah Chevalier, Niko Pezonella, and Portner
- Jack Paulson added a homerun of his own in the seventh to left, scoring Kai Brisk and Ramon Vega Jr.
- Zach Hrvol suffered the loss, giving up eight earned runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings of work

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern scored first in the night cap, notching one run off a double by Ramon Vega Jr. to left; Justin Hutter scored on the play
- Upper Iowa took the lead in the top of third, scoring two runs, and tacked on another run in the top of the fourth
- Isaiah Chevalier scored on a groundout by Austin Portner in the seventh and Reece Ragatz tied the game in the eight, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Karson Hesser in the eighth
- Neither team was able to take the lead in regulation and the game headed to extra innings
- The Wolves had their opportunities, however Upper Iowa tallied the game winning run in the 12th and held NSU scoreless in the bottom of the frame
- Zach Hartford suffered the loss, giving up the game winner in the top of the 12th
- Max Otto started on the mound for the Wolves, throwing seven complete innings with seven strikeouts
