Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team fended off the series sweep on Saturday, defeating Upper Iowa from Fossum Field. The Wolves tallied nine runs on 13 hits, behind a solid 8-inning performance by starter
Seth Brewer.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Upper Iowa tallied one run in the top of the first, however that did not hold up long
- Northern grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second with runs from Ben Carolin and Spencer Sarringar
- The Wolves plated another three runs in the third from Reece Ragatz, Carolin, and Karson Hesser
- The Peacocks threatened through the middle innings, notching two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth
- Justin Hutter doubled in Austin Portner and Reece Ragatz plated Hutter in the sixth, giving Northern a 7-3 lead
- Sarringar scored Brandon Kusler on a single up the middle in the seventh and Kusler's bunt single in the eighth scored Bryce Krattiger
- Seth Brewer earned the win, his fourth of the season, throwing eight complete innings with four runs (three earned) and ten strikeouts
- Brian Baker entered in the ninth, holding the Peacocks scoreless
