Minnetonka, Minn. – The Northern State University baseball team tallied a series victory over Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday from Veterans Field, defeating the Golden Bears three times. Northern record 17 hits in the three wins, bring their overall season record to .500.

Game 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State took the lead in the top of the third, notching two runs off a triple to right centerfield by Reece Ragatz; Justin Hutter and Austin Portner scored on the play
- Concordia rallied back in the bottom of the fourth, taking a 3-2 lead, however the Wolves were not done
- NSU added another three runs in the top of the sixth led off by a pinch hit double down the right field line by Nike Pezonella
- Ramon Vega Jr. followed with a double of his own, to left center, scoring the pinch running Bryce Krattiger
- Portner reached on a hit-by-pitch, and a double steal by Vega and Portner gave the Wolves the 4-3 lead
- Portner later came around to score on a groundball RBI by Ben Carolin
- The Wolves tallied five runs on seven hits in the win, leaving eight runners on base
- Max Otto started on the bump for the Wolves, throwing 4.0 innings and giving up three earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts
- Zach Hartford entered in relief, tossing three scoreless innings for his second win of the season

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was an evenly matched middle contest, as the Wolves tallied just one run in the top of the fifth and six total hits in the game
- Jack Paulson led off the fifth with a double to left center and came around to score on a double down the left field line by Ramon Vega Jr.
- Seth Brewer tallied the start for NSU, earning his second win of the season, while Mike Stubbs added a save throwing the final two frames
- The pair held CSP to just three hits and struck out seven in the process

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams were scoreless through the first five complete innings of game three, before a lone ball by Ramon Vega Jr. gave NSU the lead
- Justin Hutter and Reece Ragatz set up the top of the sixth for Vega Jr., reaching on an error and single to center field
- Vega Jr. belted his second homerun of the season to left field, giving Northern the 3-0 lead
- The Wolves and starter Zach Hrvol held off the Golden Bears through seven innings, giving up just one hit and playing perfect defense
- Hrvol tallied his first win of the 2021 campaign, in a 1-hit complete game victory
