Wolves Baseball Unable to Rally After Big Wildcat Inning

Wayne, Neb. – The Northern State University baseball team fell to Wayne State on Sunday afternoon, dropping the weekend series 1-2. The Wolves held a lead, however an 8-run sixth inning by the Wildcats saw the game slip away.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Northern notched one run in both the first and third innings, holding a 2-0 lead through five complete
  • Isaiah Chevalier led off the game with a double down the left field line and scored on Spencer Sarringar's single to center
  • In the third, Reece Ragatz tallied a 2-out double down the left field line and crossed the plate on Justin Hutter's double to center
  • The wheels came off in the sixth, as the Wildcats tallied eight runs on four hits with one error
  • Wayne State held Northern scoreless in their final three trips to the plate and sealed the series win
