The Wolves clinched their fourth straight NSIC North Division title Friday night with their 90-83 win over MSU Moorhead. As the top seed from the North, the Wolves are paired with the fourth-seeded Augustana Vikings from the NSIC South.

NSU finished the regular season averaging nearly 80 points per game while holding opponents to 68.3 points per game. Northrtn leads the NSIC in field goal percentage (51.1%), blocked shots (6.06 per game), assists (17.4%) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.68).

The weekend series with MSU Moorhead included major career-highs and milestones for Parker Fox, Mason Stark and Andrew Kallman.

Fox scored a career-high 39 points on 16-of-24 shooting in Friday night's win with help from Mason Stark who dished out a career-high nine assists. Stark also became the 58th member of the program's 1,000 point club with his 12 points.

Senior guard Andrew Kallman, who leads the team in assists and minutes played, recorded career-highs with 22 points and six made 3-pointers in Saturday's loss to the Dragons in his final home regular-season game at Wachs Arena.

Northern faced the Vikings in the quarterfinals of last season's conference tournament and advanced with a 68-66 win following game-winning free throws from Kallman with two seconds remaining.

Augustana finished the season 9-6 overall and 7-6 in the South Division and have won four of their last five games. Six Vikings average double figures scoring, led by junior guard Dylan LeBrun who averages 13.1 points per game on 45.3% shooting.

The Wolves and Vikings first played in the 1922-23 season; a match-up Northern won 49-15. NSU holds a 39-37 record over Augustana in their nearly century-long series and looks to win their fifth straight meeting against the in-state rivals.

If Northern advances they will face the winner of Upper Iowa and Minot State in the semifinals at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Wayne State headlines the other side of the bracket as the top seed from the NSIC South and faces St. Cloud State later tomorrow night. MSU Moorhead and Minnesota State-Mankato round out the bracket and are the other two teams Northern could face in Sunday afternoon's final.

With a tournament championship, the Wolves would all but secure a top-2 seed in the Central Region for the 2021 Division II Men's Basketball Championship. Additionally, Northern State would become the first program in NSIC history to win four straight tournament championships.
