Minot, N.D. – The Northern State University softball team's bats came alive in their Sunday sweep of UMary and Bemidji State. The Wolves tallied 17 hits versus the Beavers in their 2-out, 8-run rally.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wolves scored their two runs of the victory in the second and third innings
- Elyse Cuttic led off the bottom of the second with a bomb to left field, putting Northern on the board first
- The bottom of the third kicked off with Claire Zbylut notching a double to right field
- Zyblut came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Chanel Siebenthal to center
- Starter Meghan Anderson and the Northern State defense held the Marauders scoreless, with Anderson notching a season high 13 strikeouts
- The win was Anderson's second shutout victory of the 2021 season
- NSU tallied two runs on two hits, without giving up an error defensively

Game 2 – Bemidji State
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wolves were on the board early in game two, notching two runs in the second and one in the third
- Elyse Cuttic led off the second with a double to left and came around to score the following at-bat on Makenzie Merritt's homerun
- Kennady Thompson added a long ball of her own in the top of the third, sending the ball over the left field fence on a 2-1 count
- Bemidji State fought back in the bottom of the sixth putting up five runs on four hits for the 5-3 lead
- The Wolves were left with their final at-bats of the contest and came together with two outs, scoring eight runs on nine hits
- Thompson kicked off the rally, plating Rachel Reinke (singled to left) with a single to left, followed by a Cuttic single to right
- Merritt stepped to the plate and crushed her second homerun of the contest to centerfield, clearing the bases and giving the Wolves a 7-5 lead
- Northern was not finished as Katie Palmer and Elly Smith each notched a single of their own and Emma Terveer loaded the bases with a walk
- Shelby Novotny connected for her first hit of the season, a single to left, scoring Palmer and Smith
- Reinke and Chanel Siebenthal plated the final runs of the inning for the Wolves, scoring Terveer and Novotny on singles to center and right
- Cuttic and Meghan Anderson each tallied innings in the circle for Northern, with Anderson notching her third win of the season
