Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University wrestling team will open the 2021-22 season this Saturday at the Jamestown Jimmie Invite. The Wolves will travel with a smaller squad of student-athletes to compete against wrestlers from Augustana, Dakota Wesleyan, Dickinson State, Itasca CC, Jamestown, UMary, Midland, Minot State, Minnesota State, MSU Moorhead, North Dakota State, NCTC, Ridgewater College, RCTC, South Dakota State, Waldorf, Wayne State, William Penn, and York. Competition kicks off at 9 a.m. in Jamestown.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
- The 2021-22 Northern State University wrestling team is coming off their first NSIC Championship since the 2002 season in the spring of 2021
- The Wolves went 5-0 in league action and saw both Caden Moore and Kolton Roth named to the NSIC All-Conference second team
- Northern returns 28 for last year's roster and welcomes six incoming freshman and transfers
- In addition, the Wolves return all ten starters from their conference championship team, as well as depth at multiple weight classes
