Kansas City, MO – The Northern State men's basketball team fell in a match-up of two top 15 teams, 86-65 to Washburn in the Central Region Challenge. After a closely contested first half, the Ichabods knocked down nine second half threes in route to a 21 point victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams struggled to score the ball in the first five minutes of play, however the Wolves were able to break out to an 11-5 lead after back-to-back threes from Sam Masten and Jacksen Moni
- Northern and Washburn would continue to trade scoring runs the remainder of the first half, and the Ichabods were able to take a 31-29 lead into the break
- Washburn jumped out to a 46-32 lead to start the second half, but Northern State refused to go down without a fight and would get back to within four points after a 3-pointer by Augustin Reede at the 10:24 mark
- Four points would be all the closer NSU would make the game, the Ichabods closed the game shooting lights out from beyond the arc and knocked down six 3-pointers in the final ten minutes
