Wolves Hit the Road for NSIC Championships Tomorrow

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University cross country teams travel to Wayne State College this weekend, competing in the NSIC Cross Country Championships. Race times are set for 10 a.m. for the women and 11:15 a.m. for the men.

  • The men will run an 8k, while the women will run a 6k
  • Spectators attending the event, must follow the guidelines outline in the meet information link above
 
NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves are coming off second (women) and third (men) place finishes at the Jimmie Invite two weeks ago
  • The NSU women tallied an average time of 19:36.1, while the men came in with an average time of 27:15.4
  • Megan Pickering led the way for the women, taking sixth overall with a time of 19:04.09
  • In addition, Megan Mooberry has been a leader for the NSU women this season, running personal bests of 15:41.30 in the 4k and 19:16.60 in the 5k
  • Jackson Harrison was the men's leader for the second straight week, finishing as the runner-up with a time of 25:43.4
·         Harrison holds three top-10 finishes on the year, including an eighth place mark at the Roy Griak Invitational
 
 
THE 2019 CHAMPIONSHIPS
·         Northern State placed tenth (women) and eighth (men) from the 2019 NSIC Championships hosted by Wayne State
·         Harrison earned NSIC All-Conference second team accolades at the meet taking 16th overall with a time of 26:29.84
·         Jordyn Sterud was the top returner for NSU, landing in the top-60 with a time of 24:35.89
