Moon Selected to NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee

Indianapolis – Northern State University Director of Athletics Josh Moon has been appointed to the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee and will serve through the 2022-23 academic year.
 
In addition, he will serve as the Chair of the Central Region Men's Basketball Regional Advisory Committee (RAC). The Central Region is comprised of 42 institutions in the NSIC, Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and Great American Conference (GAC).
 
The primary role of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee is oversight of the Division II Men's Basketball Championship, including selection of teams for the tournament. Similarly, the role of the RAC is to assist the National Committee in the evaluation of teams throughout the season.  
 
Moon has led NSU Athletics since 2012, where he has helped transform the student-athlete experience and the national profile of Wolves Athletics. During his tenure, athletic scholarships have increased by over 45%, major facility improvements have been completed, and NSU has recorded all-time bests in competition and in the classroom. NSU is currently finishing the final stages of the transformational $55 million Educational Impact Campaign, which includes Dacotah Bank Stadium (football) and Koehler Hall of Fame Field (softball) – over $50 million has been raised to date.
 
In addition, NSU continues to lead NCAA Division II in men's and women's basketball attendance. Since 2012, NSU has produced five regular season NSIC Championships, eight NSIC Divisional Championships, 27 NSIC Conference Champions, one NCAA Regional Championship, one National Finalist appearance, and three NCAA National Champions. Moon also served on the NCAA Division II Football Super Region 4 Regional Advisory Committee from 2017-2019.
