RENONVATED NUTRITION STATION UNVEILED FOR WOLVES STUDENT-ATHLETES

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University strength and conditioning will launch the newly renovated Wolves Nutrition Station heading into 2026-27 in partnership with Beef Logic Inc. and Huff Construction.

"Thank you, Beef Logic, without your support, this project would not have been possible,” said Director of Strength and Conditioning Zach Neer. “And thank you to Huff Construction on bringing our vision to life. I am humbled by the continued support of NSU athletics. This newly renovated space allows us to provide for our student-athletes and their nutritional needs at a championship level. From pre/post workout fueling to nutrition education, we are excited on what this space means for our athletes.”

The renovation includes updated countertops and bar seating space, new flooring, wall and refrigerator graphics, and cabinet storage, located just inside the main entrance of the Bob Olson Strength and Conditioning Center.

“We appreciate our friends at Beef Logic for helping this project come to life, and for the innovation from Huff Construction to take our ideas and make this a high-functioning, efficient space,” noted Director of Athletics Nate Davis. “Providing our student-athletes access to proper nutrition and aiding in their post-workout recovery play a critical role in performance. This new designated space provides our athletes with convenient access to the resources they need to compete and succeed at a high level.”

Northern has been providing nutrition information and post-workout benefits to student-athletes for nearly a decade and space redesign was dreamt up by Neer to bring things full circle and provide student-athletes an inviting space to refuel and gain nutritional education.

“Beef Logic is committed to helping students understand the value of high-quality protein and balanced nutrition,” explained Eric Sumption, Beef Logic Board President. “We are proud to partner with Northern State University as well as community partners like Top Chop Meats to provide access to beef and all its many benefits that will benefit students for years to come.”

“We are proud to have partnered with Northern State University on the addition of their new weight room fuel bar,” added Chad Huff, President & CEO of Huff Construction. “It was a privilege to support the Wolves' athletic program through this project, and we look forward to seeing it serve NSU student-athletes for years to come. Go Wolves!”

Student-athletes will have the opportunity to fuel themselves pre-and-post workout with chocolate milk, bananas, granola bars, beef sticks, roast beef sandwiches, and protein powder provided in the nutrition station. Neer hopes to continue to expand the offerings of the nutrition station to include more grab and go options as student-athletes head to class, campus events, team meetings, and practices.

The fueling helps to increase energy availability and enhanced recovery to help make each training session as effective and efficient as possible. The nutrition station will help reinforce good nutritional habits for Wolves student-athletes, while bridging the gap between their busy schedules and athletic and academic success.
