Wolves Athletics and Multicultural Student Affairs Team Up for INcompass Excellence Presentation

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State Athletics Council on Community, Culture, and Social Justice in conjunction with the university's office for Multicultural Student Affairs will welcome Sheridan Blanford of INcompass Excellence on Monday, November 9 at 7 p.m. for a presentation on Leading through Diversity and Inclusion Allyship. Blanford's presentation will be streamed for students, faculty, and staff on the Barnett Center video board.
 
Blanford will cover the topics of becoming an inclusive thought leader, leadership through a lens of diversity and inclusion, race and allyship, and the history of racism. A question and answer session will take place at the end of the presentation, with attendees able to ask their questions through an anonymous online service called Mentimeter. Question service links will be provided at the beginning of the presentation.

About Sheridan Blanford
Sheridan Blanford is the founder and CEO of INcompass Excellence, where she serves as a chief strategist for all diversity, equity, and inclusion matters for companies, organizations and departments, deploying strategies that institute inclusive  organizational culture. 
 
In 2019, Blanford was named as one of Wisconsin's 49 Most Influential Black Leaders by Madison 365. Blanford has attended the Learfield Minority Academy each of the last two years, serving as an alumni ambassador at the 2018 event. Women Leaders in College Sports also selected Blanford as a 2018 Rising Star Award winner in 2018.
 
Blanford has worked in various capacities as a college athletics diversity, equity and inclusion professional where she has led strategy, implemented policy, created and maintained programming, and jump started multiple initiatives that have furthered the culture and climate of the various organizations that she has worked with.
 
Blanford graduated from St. Olaf College in 2015 where she played basketball and earned her Master's degree in the University of Washington's Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership program the following year.
