Wolves Head North For the Start of League Play

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State women's soccer heads to North Dakota this weekend as they open NSIC play against UMary and Minot State. Kick-off on Friday against UMary will be at 5 p.m. and kick-off against Minot State will be at 12 p.m. on Sunday. Friday's kick-off was moved up two hours due to inclement weather. 
 
ABOUT THE WOLVES
  • Northern enters the match-up with a 2-1 record overall as they enter conference play
  • The Wolves will look to get back on track after dropping their final non-conference match-up to Ferris State on Sunday
  • NSU is sporting a .138 shot percentage on the year, while holding their opponents to only a .029 shot percentage
  • Northern has scored half of their goals in the first 45 minutes of play this season
  • The Wolves have done a fantastic job at distributing the ball in the final third of play with six assists
  • Stephany Estrada leads the team with two goals, one assist, five points, and seven shots entering league action
  • Morgan Bury has been the only keeper in the net for NSU with a .944 save percentage and two shutouts on the year seeing 35 total shots

  • Melanie Van Walstijn and Sofia Lewis lead the team tallying eight shots each in the first three games of the season
  • The Beavers are led by Head Coach Chris Clements entering his ninth year at the helm
