ORLANDO, Fla. – After being named NSIC Keeper of the Week, Northern State soccer's Audrey Burns has claimed the D2CIDA Women's Soccer National Player of the Week award. She is the first in program history to receive the honor.
 
The goalkeeper from Costa Mesa, Calif. played all 90 minutes in both of NSU's games over the weekend. She pitched a shutout, tallying 11 total saves including a career-high seven saves versus No. 5 Minnesota State. During the contest against a top-ranked opponent, Burns stopped a penalty kick to save the Wolves from an early deficit. The game eventually resulted in a 0-0 tie, handing the Mavericks their first non-win of the season.
 
Northern soccer stands at 3-1-2 on the season, 2-0-2 in NSIC action, coming in at fourth in the conference. Their next game is Friday, September 25 at 6 p.m. as they host Minnesota Crookston during homecoming week at the Athletic & Recreation Fields.
