2019-20 Wolves wrestling class complete with the addition of six student-athletes

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University head coach Rocky Burkett  announced today his full 2019-20 class for the with the additions of George Bolling (Orofino, Idaho), Dane Christopherson (Sisseton, S.D.), Cole Huss (Gretna, Neb.), Marcus Placide (Minneapolis, Minn.), Jordan Stenzel (Hutchinson, Minn.), and Josh Trumble (Springfield, Neb.). They will join James Burks (Omaha, Neb.), Landen Fischer (Rapid City, S.D.), Kelby O'Reilly (Goodhue, Minn.), Tyson Stoebner (Lennox, S.D.), and Wyatt Turnquist (Winner, S.D.) bringing the class total to 11.

George Bolling  •  Orofino, Idaho  •  Orofino HS
George Bolling is a 6-foot, 197-pound wrestler out of Orofino High School. He finished his prep career with a 122-48 record overall. Bolling was a 4-time state qualifier and 3-time state placewinner taking fourth, fourth, and second. He is the son of Teri Ploharz-Bolling and Jim Bolling.

Dane Christopherson  •  Sisseton, S.D.  •  Sisseton HS
Dane Christopherson is a 5-foot-7, 125-pound wrestler out of Sisseton High School. He was a 5-year starter and senior team captain for the Redmen under the direction of head coach Kasey Metz. Christopherson concluded his career with 182 wins, 123 pins, and was a 3-time state placewinner. He finished sixth at 106-pounds in 2016, seventh at 120-pounds in 2018, and fifth at 126-pounds in 2019. The Redmen won the 2017 NEC Championship, and Christopherson was named to the all-area team in 2017-18. He is the son of Mary and John Christopherson.

Cole Huss is a 5-foot-11, 174-pound wrestler out of Gretna High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Dragons under the direction of head coach Jake Smith. Huss was a 3-time state placewinner taking fourth at 145-pounds, third at 152-pounds, and second at 170-pounds last season. He finished his high school career with a 119-25 record. In addition, Huss placed second at Nebraska Greco State and third at Nebraska Freestyle State in 2018. He was named to the All-ITG team as a junior and senior, as well as the All-State academic team in 2019. He is the son of Ryan and Jennifer Huss.

Marcus Placide  •  Minneapolis, Minn.  •  Minneapolis Washburn •  Iowa Lakes CC
Marcus Placide is a 5-foot-11, 184-pound wrestler out of Minneapolis Washburn High School and Iowa Lake Community College. As a prep, Placide was a 4-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Millers. He qualified for the state tournament in 2016 and was a 3-time All-City first team selection. Placide wrestled two seasons at Iowa Lakes as a starter. He was the 2019 NJCAA National Runner-up, while ILCC took 12th in 2018 and seventh in 2019 at the national tournament.  He is the son of Carol Weissenborn and MaCherie Placide.

Jordan Stenzel  •  Hutchinson, Minn.  •  Hutchinson HS
Jordan Stenzel is a 5-foot-11, 174-pound wrestler out of Hutchinson High School. He was a 4-year starter and senior team captain for the Tigers under the direction of head coach Todd Card. Stenzel advanced to the Minnesota State Tournament in 2018 at 152 pounds and placed third and eighth at the Big Bear tournament in his career. In addition, he added Wright Count Conference honorable mention honors at 152-pounds. He is the son of Ben and Gwen Stenzel.

Josh Trumble  •  Springfield, Neb.  •  Millard South HS
Josh Trumble is a 5-foot-11, 197-pound wrestler out of Millard South High School. He was a 4-year starter and senior team captain for the Patriots. In his senior campaign, Trumble went 54-6 overall and finished third at the state meet. He added two Metro Championships and a sixth place finish at the state meet in 2018. The Patriots won both the individual and dual State Championships in 2019. He is the son of Julie and Tim Trumble.

James Burks  •  Omaha, Neb.  •  Harry A. Burke HS
James Burks is a 5-foot-8, 165-pound wrestler out of Harry A. Burke High School in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a 4-year starter and senior team captain for the Bulldogs under the direction of head coach Wes Boehm. Burks holds a career record of 216-9 and holds the career wins record for the state of Nebraska. He was a 4-time Nebraska State Champion going 60-0 his senior year, and is currently ranked nationally by both WIN Magazine (#6) and Intermat Wrestle (#17). Burks is also a member of the MWC club, where he is a 2018 UWW Cadet National Champion and USA World Team Member. Burks finished third overall at the Fargo Greco Nationals and placed second at the NHSCA Senior Nationals in Virginia Beach. He is the son of Kolina Rieper.

Landen Fischer  •  Rapid City, S.D.  •  Stevens HS
Landen Fischer is a 5-foot-7, 125-pound wrestler out of Stevens High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Raiders under head coach Travis King. He wrestled to a record of 54-10 in his senior season. Fischer is the 2017 South Dakota State Greco Champion and Freestyle Runner-up. He also finished second at the 2018 Rapid City Invitational and was a placewinner at the Rumble on the Red. In 2019, Fisher won the South Dakota State Championship at 113 pounds and was a nominee for South Dakota Wrestler of the Year. The Raiders also won the 2019 South Dakota State Team Championship. He is the son of David and Kellie Fischer.

Kelby O'Reilly is a 5-foot-9, 157-pound wrestler out of Goodhue High School. He was a 6-year starter and 3-year team captain for the Wildcats under head coach Josh Grant. O'Reilly was a 3-time state place winner finishing as high as third in 2017 and 2019, as well as fifth in 2018. In addition, he was a 3-time section champion, and 3-time All-American. O'Reilly was named to the 2018 and 2019 Southeast Minnesota All-Area team. He is a Folkstyle National placer, taking fourth and seventh. He is the son of Renee Wiskow.

Tyson Stoebner  •  Lennox, S.D.  •  Lennox HS
Tyson Stoebner is a 5-foot-8, 149-pound wrestler out of Lennox High School. He was a 5-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Orioles. Stoebner finished his high school career with 223 victories. He is a 5-time state place winner taking sixth as an eighth grader, eighth as a freshman, second as a sophomore, fourth as a junior, and fourth as a senior. Stoebner was twice named to the all-conference first team and was the Argus Leader Player of the Week. He is the son of Greg and Beth Stoebner.

Wyatt Turnquist  •  Winner, S.D.  •  Winner HS
Wyatt Turnquist is a 5-foot-10, 133/141-pound wrestler out of Winner High School. He was a 5-year starter and senior team captain for the Warriors under head coach Spencer Novotny. Turnquist is a 4-time state place winner taking eight in 2016, fifth in 2017, and second in 2018. Turnquist went on to win the 2019 South Dakota State Championship at 138 pounds, and led the state in nearfall points. He finished his career with 199 career wins. The Warriors finished fourth in 2017 and second in 2018 and 2019 at the South Dakota State meet. Turnquist was a nominee for the 2019 Argus Leader Wrestler of the Year and earned the Mitchell Daily Republic's Weekend's Best Award. He is the son of Domini and Black Turnquist.
