Men's Track & Field NSU Sports Information

Track and field set for four meets in four days

Aberdeen, S.D. – A full week of competition is ahead for Wolves track and field. Northern kicks off the week on Wednesday, April 24 at the Mount Marty Classic. They then head to the Drake Relays April 25-27, the Kip Janvrin on the 26th, and the MSU Moorhead Ran Masanz Classic on April 27.
 
QUICK HITS ON THE NSU WOMEN
  • Three women competed from the DSU Blue Hawk Games last Friday
  • Mackenzie Cruzen ran to a third place finish in the 200m with a time of 26.65 and a second place finish in the 400m with a time of 1:01.78
  • Dakota Hutzler took ninth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.17 and eighth in the high jump with a 1.45m (4-9) mark
  • Kealy Hill rounded out the day for the Wolves taking fifth in the pole vault with a 3.50m (11-05.75) mark

QUICK HITS ON THE NSU MEN
  • Three men competed from the DSU Blue Hawk Games last Friday
  • Donovan Miller took seventh in the 1500m run with a time of 4:19.19
  • TJ Hochstetler ran to a third place finish in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.62 and tallied a sixth place finish in the pole vault clearing 4.10m (13-05.25)
  • Jacob Wiedrich took tenth in the pole vault with a 3.95m (12-11.50) mark

  • The Northern State men tallied four event victories and 14 top-5 finishes from the UNK Loper Invite in the last date of full team competition
  • The 4x100m relay team of Lackas, Tiefenthaler, Tyrrell, and Larson notched a season best time of 43.06, finishing in second overall
  • Alazae LeFaive tallied the first event victory for the Wolves in the javelin, throwing 54.66m (179-04) on his second attempt of the afternoon
  • Jacob Lackas won the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.84
  • Trey Tiefenthaler won two events including the 100m dash (11.00) and triple jump (14.09m), while also taking third in the long jump
  • Adding top-5 finishes were Bryce Malsam (110m hurdles), Itoitz Rodriguez (400m, 200m), Devin Sheridan (400m), Jacob Lackas (100m), Jackson Harrison (5000m), Jorge Garcia (5000m), Kelson Brewer (400m hurdles), Austin Eppard (discus), and Jake Olson (discus)
 
WOLVES IN THE TOP-30 NATIONALLY
  • Hanneke Oosterwegel is ranked 20th in the 400m hurdles (1:01.34) with a provisional time
  • Tanner Berg ranks tenth in the hammer, throwing a provisional mark of 61.60m
 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
  • Tanner Berg broke his own hammer throw record at the Dordt Invite, throwing a national provisional mark of 61.60m
