Clermont, Fla. – The Northern State University softball team dropped a pair of games to No. 1 Southern Indiana and Georgian Court Saturday afternoon. Southern Indiana entered the game as the defending NCAA Division II National Champions. With the two losses, the Wolves drop to 1-3 from THE Spring Games.

GAME 1 – SOUTHERN INDIANA
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The No. 1 Screaming Eagles scored early and often notching two runs in the second, four in the fourth, one in the fifth, and five in the seventh.
- Courtney Sjerven spoiled the USI starters no hitter that was running through fifth inning with a 2-out single up the middle.
- Sjerven, along with Anne Jonas scored on the following at-bat off a Cassidy Schaar double down the left field line.
- Northern tallied two runs on two hits with five errors defensive. Andrea Cherney started the contest and gave up just one earned run despite suffering the loss.

GAME 2 – GEORGIAN COURT
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams were scoreless through the first two innings, but Georgian Court broke things open in the bottom of the third with five runs.
- The Lions added another run in the bottom of the fourth.
- The Wolves recorded six hits and did not give up an error defensively, but left six runners on base in the game.
- Fisher suffered the loss on the mound, giving up six earned runs on eight hits with six walks and three strikeouts.
