Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University head football coach,
Tom Dosch, announced the signing of 40 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent today. The incoming student-athletes hail from eight different states and eight position groups. The large class is just the second in Dosch's tenure that has reached 40 or more signees following the 44-member class of 2017.
"The 2019 Wolves football signing class is filled with size, speed and winners," noted Dosch. "Our staff did a tremendous job of adding players at all positions, with a major emphasis on the offensive line, defensive secondary and defensive line. The size potential and range of this group is awesome. As usual, we made signing multi-sport athletes a top priority, as over ninety percent of this group competes in additional sports for their high school."

"The 2018 fall semester had NSU football with our highest team semester GPA ever recorded," added Dosch. "That looks to continue, as 60 percent of our signees were recipients of academic scholarships to NSU."
The signing classes largest contingency comes from the state of South Dakota (18), followed by Minnesota (10), Arizona (3), North Dakota (3), Florida (2), Wisconsin (2), and Texas (1). Linemen were a key component for the 2019 class with the additions of ten on the offensive line and six on the defensive line. The Wolves will also add seven defensive backs, six linebackers, five wide receivers, three running backs, two tight ends, and two quarterbacks.
Dosch continued, "We remain committed to recruiting our immediate area first and foremost, with over three-fourths of our signees from South Dakota, Minnesota and North Dakota. In addition, we continue to recruit the region and beyond searching for student-athletes that will continue to elevate our program, on and off the field. We are excited to have these young men and their families join in all the amazing things currently happening at NSU; they will be part of an unprecedented, transformational time for our university."
Mason Amato (OL, 6-2, 360, Sioux Falls, S.D. / Roosevelt HS)
Mason Amato is a 6-foot-2, 360-pound offensive lineman out of Roosevelt High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Rough Riders under the direction of head coach Kim Nelson. As a senior, Amato was named to the all-conference and all-state teams. He was also selected to the Argus Leader Elite 45 team. He is the son of Sam and Kerri Amato.
Dosch on Amato: "Mason is a tough, physical lineman who excelled for Coach Kim Nelson at Sioux Falls Roosevelt. His size and strength allows him to be a force on the offensive line."
Beau Bertram (LB, 6-4, 210, Colome, S.D. / Colome HS)
Beau Bertram is a 6-foot-4, 210-pound linebacker out of Colome High School. He was a 4-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Cowboys under the direction of head coach Ben Connot. Bertram recorded 230 tackles in his career, with a season best 70 as a senior. He was a 2-time all-conference and all-state selection. The Cowboys won the 2016 and 2018 South Dakota State Championships, with Bertram being honored with the 2018 Lineman Award in the championship game. He is the son of Gene Bertram.
Dosch on Bertram: "Beau has the length and athleticism to excel in our defensive scheme. A standout for Coach Ben Cannot's State Championship team at Colome, Beau is a big-play guy with a frame to add size and strength."
Nick Boever (RB, 5-10, 185, Dell Rapids, S.D. / Dell Rapids HS)
Nick Boever is a 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back out of Dell Rapids High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Quarriers under the direction of head coach Jordan Huska. Boever tallied over 500 yards in his final two seasons, notching a combined 1,139 yards rushing with 16 touchdowns. He was a 2-time Dakota 12 All-Conference selection, as the Quarriers were the 2018 South Dakota State Runner-up. He is the son of Will and Cathy Boever.
Dosch on Boever: "Nick is a playmaker. He is a 3-sport athlete at Dell Rapids High School for Coach Jordan Huska. His change of direction, quickness and elusiveness will carry over to the collegiate level."
Isaiah Cherrier (RB, 6-0, 210, Minnetonka, Minn. / Mound Westonka HS / Western Illinois)
Isaiah Cherrier is a 6-foot, 210-pound running back out of Mound Westonka High School and Western Illinois. He was a 4-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Whitehawks under the direction of head coach Nick David. As a prep, he recorded 2,061 yards rushing and 808 yards receiving with 33 rushing touchdowns and 13 receiving scores. Defensively he added 183 tackles, with 22 tackles for a loss six sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, three blocked kicks, five interceptions, and 16 pass deflections. Cherrier also rallied 413 yards on kick returns and 603 punt return yards. He was a 2-time all-district, all-metro, and all-state selection, while also being named to the all-conference team, Minnesota Vikings All-State team, and the back-to-back district offensive most valuable player. He is the son of Clifton and Jessica Cherrier.
Dosch on Cherrier: "Isaiah is a dynamic player who joined our program in January as a transfer. He has the speed, change of direction, and physical style that we look for in a tailback. Isaiah can run past and over defenders, and I expect him to compete for playing time immediately."
Koffi Gbekle (DL, 6-4, 275, Minneapolis, Minn. / Kennedy HS)
Koffi Gbekle is a 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive lineman out of Kennedy High School. He was a 2-year starter for the Eagles under the direction of head coach Jon Anderson. Gbekle tallied 29 tackles and nine sacks in his senior campaign. He was a 2-time all-district selection and named the 2018 District Defensive Player of the Year. He is the son of Aime and Ayele Gbekle.
Dosch on Gbekle: "Koffi is a big, athletic lineman who was a dominant force at Bloomington Kennedy. Relatively new to the game with just two years of high school experience, Koffi has a tremendous upside with a huge ceiling for development."
Gage Gehring (LB, 6-0, 195, Pierre, S.D. / T.F. Riggs HS)
Gage Gehring is a 6-foot, 195-pound linebacker out of T.F. Riggs High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Governors under the direction of head coach Steve Steele. Gehring tallied 194 total tackles in his final two seasons as Pierre won back-to-back state championships. Gehring was a 2-time all-conference, 2-time all-state honorable mention, and 2-time all-state first team selection. He is the son of Greg and Denise Gehring.
Dosch on Gehring: "Gage was a key component for Coach Steve Steele's T.F. Riggs State Championship team. He is a disruptive force on defense, and brings a physical style to the linebacker group."
Nick Gerlach (TE, 6-5, 230, East Bethel, Minn. / St. Francis HS)
Nick Gerlach is a 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end out of St. Francis High School. He was a 3-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Saints under the direction of head coach Brent Swaggert. In his final two seasons, Gerlach tallied 68 yards receiving with three touchdowns. He was a 2-time academic all-district, academic all-state, all-district honorable mention, and all-district selection. The Saints reached the 7AAAAA section championship in both 2017 and 2018. He is the son of Vicky and Steve Gerlach, and brother of Wolves football student-athlete
Chris Gerlach.

Clifford Geyer (DL, 6-2, 260, San Antonio, Texas / Tom C. Clark HS)
Clifford Geyer is a 6-foot-2, 260-pound defensive lineman out of Tom C. Clark High School. He was a 4-year starter and senior team captain for the Cougars under the direction of head coach Steve McGhee. As a senior, Geyer recorded 52 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He was named to the all-district second team following his senior season. He is the son of Becky Geyer.
Dosch on Geyer: "Clifford was an impactful player for Clark High School, playing against top level football in Texas. His size potential and explosiveness will transition well into our defensive end position."
Kresean Greer (DB, 5-11, 175, Minneapolis, Minn. / DeLaSalle HS)
Kresean Greer is a 5-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back out of DeLaSalle High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Islanders under the direction of head coach CJ Hallman. Greer recorded 268 yards rushing, 300 yards receiving, 12 tackles, six pass deflections, and three interceptions in his senior season. He was named to the 2018 all-district honorable mention team. He is the son of LaRone Greer and Sheila and Michael Shelton.
Dosch on Greer: "Kresean is a playmaker. He was a standout at DeLaSalle High School. He makes plays on throws, is a sure tackler and disruptive getting after the football."
Logan Grossinger (DL, 6-0, 235, Buffalo, Minn. / Buffalo HS)
Logan Grossinger is a 6-foot, 235-pound defensive lineman out of Buffalo High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Bison under the direction of head coach Todd Bouman. Grossinger recorded 37 total tackles as a senior and was named to the all-district team. He also earned the honor of team offensive line MVP. He is the son of Tammy and Chris Grossinger.
Dosch on Grossinger: "Logan is an active, physical defensive player from Buffalo High School. He plays full speed and to the edge of the whistle every play."
Max Hanson (OL, 6-4, 300, East Troy, Wis. / East Troy HS)
Max Hanson is a 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive lineman out of East Troy High School. He was a 3-year starter for the Trojans under the direction of head coach Jeff Crandall. Hanson led East Troy last season in batted passes. The Trojans tallied the first playoff victory in school history a season ago as well. He is the son of Wendy Hanson.

Zach Hanson (WR, 6-4, 220, Sioux Falls, S.D. / Lincoln HS)
Zach Hanson is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound wide receiver out of Lincoln High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Patriots under head coach Jared Fredenburg. Hanson recorded 1,184 yards receiving in three seasons, with a career high 560 as a senior. He averaged 11.4 yards per reception with nine career touchdowns. As a senior, Hanson was named to the all-state team and Argus Leader Elite 45 honorable mention team. He is the son of Chad and Stephanie Hanson, and is the grandson of Northern State football alumni Claude Bent and Northern State alumni Rich Hanson.
Dosch on Hanson: "Zach is a long, rangy receiver who excelled for coach Jared Fredenburg at Lincoln High School. He has a big upside in the college game as an offensive weapon."
Anthony Harris Jr. (OL, 6-2, 280, Minneapolis, Minn. / DeLaSalle HS)
Anthony Harris Jr. is a 6-foot-2, 280-pound offensive lineman out of DeLaSalle High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Islanders under the direction of head coach CJ Hallman. Harris recorded 106 career tackles. He added ten sacks, nine forced fumbles, and six pass deflections. He is the son of Anthony Harris Sr.
Dosch on Harris: "We identified Anthony early in the process as a top offensive line prospect. His athleticism, tenacity, and demeanor are what we look for at that position."
Lathem Hodges (OL, 6-3, 250, Gillette, Wyo. / Thunder Basin HS)
Lathem Hodges is a 6-foot-3, 250-pound offensive lineman out of Thunder Basin High School. He was a starter for the Bolts under the direction of head coach Trent Pikula. Hodges tallied 30 tackles, five tackles for a loss, and two sacks as a senior. He was named to the all-state team as both a defensive and offensive tackles. In addition, Hodges was honored on the All-Wyoming USA second team and was a Shrine Bowl selection. He is the son of Genell Hodges.

Taylor Hojer (DL, 6-2, 240, Oldham, S.D. / Oldham-Ramona HS)
Taylor Hojer is a 6-foot-2, 240-pound defensive lineman out of Oldham-Ramona High School. He was a 3-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Raiders under the direction of head coach Brady Clark. Hojer tallied 169 career tackles, with 29 tackles for a loss and 11 sacks. He recorded a single season career high of 21 tackles for a loss as a senior. He was a 2-time all-conference selection, all-state and academic all-state honoree, and a member of the Argus Leader Elite 45 honorable mention team. He is the son of Jay and Michelle Hojer.
Dosch on Hojer: "Taylor was a standout two-way player for Oldham-Ramona and coach Brady Clark for several seasons. He has natural instincts as a defensive lineman, and a great frame for added strength and size."
Kaden Johnson (OL, 6-2, 275, Aberdeen, S.D. / Central HS)
Kaden Johnson is a 6-foot-2, 275-pound offensive lineman out of Central High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Golden Eagles under the direction of head coach Mitch Kranz. Johnson recorded 36 tackles, including 12 tackles for a loss and three sacks as a senior. He was named to the ESD All-Conference team, all-state, academic all-state, and Argus Leader Elite 45 honorable mention team. He is the son of Jennifer Weig.
Dosch on Johnson: "Kaden was a physical force for coach Mitch Kranz at Aberdeen Central High School. A standout wrestler, he uses leverage, physicality and a plays with an edge every snap."
Jaden Karst (LB, 5-9, 210, Bath, S.D. / Roncalli HS)
Jaden Karst is a 5-foot-9, 210-pound linebacker out of Roncalli High School. He was a 4-year starter and senior team captain for the Cavaliers under the direction of head coach Billy Young. Karst tallied 65 tackles as a senior, as well as 420 yards rushing and 300 yards receiving. He was named to the 2018 all-conference and all-state honorable mention teams. He is the son of Pat and Jerry Buechler.
Dosch on Karst: "Jaden was an impactful, two-way player at Roncalli High School for coach Billy Young. He plays a physical, aggressive and downhill style of the game. His versatility and toughness makes him a great fit at linebacker."
Trey King (WR, 6-0, 210, Irene, S.D. / Irene-Wakonda HS)
Trey King is a 6-foot, 210-pound wide receiver out of Irene-Wakonda High School. He was a 4-year starter and senior team captain for the Eagles under the direction of head coach Chris Torgerson. King recorded 1,297 yards receiving, 3,608 yards rushing, and 5,923 yards passing in his career. He added 78 touchdowns (receiving and rushing) and 72 passing scores. As a senior, he tallied 2,882 yards passing with 40 touchdowns, and 1,344 yards rushing with 18 touchdowns. King was an all-state honorable mention wide receiver in 2015, and a 2-time all-state first team selection in 2017 and 2018. He is the son of Michael and Jennifer King, and brother of Wolves basketball student-athlete

Nate Kneebone (LB, 6-3, 180, Flandreau, S.D. / Flandreau HS)
Nate Kneebone is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound linebacker out of Flandreau High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Fliers under the direction of head coach Derek Genzlinger. As a senior, Kneebone recorded 83 yards rushing and 354 yards receiving with five touchdowns, as well as 100 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble. He was named to the All-Big East team, the Brookings Register All-Area team, and the Argus Leader Elite 45 honorable mention team. He is the son of Chad and Lori Kneebone.

Shemar Lawson (DB, 5-9, 170, Brooksville, Fla. / Nature Coast Tech HS)
Shemar Lawson is a 5-foot-9, 170-pound defensive back out of Nature Coach Technical High School. He was a 3-year starter for the Sharks under the direction of head coach Cory Johns. Nature Coast Tech advanced to the elite 8 of the Florida playoffs in 2018 with a 12-3 season record. He is the son of Erica Lawson.
Dosch on Lawson: "Shemar was a productive two-way player who excelled against top competition in high school. He has excellent ball skills, is physical in run defense, and competes hard every snap."
Will Madler (QB, 5-10, 180, Bismarck, N.D. / Bismarck HS)
Will Madler is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound quarterback out of Bismarck High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Demons under the direction of head coach Mark Gibson. Madler tallied 5,200 yards passing and 62 touchdowns in his career. He recorded a career best 2,099 yards passing as a senior, completing 116 of 168 attempts, with 27 touchdowns. Madler is a 3-time all-conference and all-state selection. In 2018, he was named the Western Dakota Association Player of the Year, Senior Athlete of the Year, and the North Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year. The Demons won the 2018 North Dakota AAA State Championship. He is the son of Steve and Billie Madler.
Dosch on Madler: "Will is a winner. He quarterbacked the State AAA Champion Bismarck Demons for coach Mark Gibson. Named the ND State Player of the Year by Midco, he has the arm strength and foot speed needed to be a dual-threat QB. His poise, confidence and big-play abilities come out during crunch time."
Kendrick Maynor Jr. (DB, 5-10, 175, St. Petersburg, Fla. / Calvary Christian HS)
Kendrick Maynor Jr. is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound defensive back out of Calvary Christian High School. He was a 4-year starter and senior team captain for the Warriors under the direction of head coach Reggie Crume. Maynor recorded 25 tackles, 12 pass breakups, one interception, and 300 return yards as a senior. He tallied a region leading six interceptions in his junior season. He was a 2-time all-county honorable mention selection and was named in the top-100 players in the state of Florida. He is the son of Maria and Dorian Speaker.

Luke Moberg (DB, 6-1, 185, St. Paul, Minn. / John A. Johnson HS)
Luke Moberg is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back out of John A. Johnson High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Governors under the direction of head coach Eric Moberg. Playing on both sides of the ball, Moberg tallied 270 yards receiving with five touchdowns and a state leading nine interceptions his senior year. He was a 2-time all-conference selection and 2018 academic all-state honoree. The Governors won the 4A section championship and were semifinalists at the Minnesota State Tournament. He is the son of Eric and Sarah Moberg.
Dosch on Moberg: "Luke is a ball-hawk, as he was among Minnesota State 4A leaders in interceptions. His instincts and overall versatility will make him a good fit as a safety in our defensive scheme."
Devonte Murphy (DL, 6-0, 285, Sioux Falls, S.D. / Roosevelt HS)
Devonte Murphy is a 6-foot, 285-pound defensive lineman out of Roosevelt High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Rough Riders under the direction of head coach Kim Nelson. Murphy recorded 94 career tackles, with 9.5 sacks and one interception. He was a 2-time Metro All-Conference selection, 2-time all-state pick, and a 2018 Argus Leader Elite 45 team member. He is the son of Latonia Barbour.
Dosch on Murphy: "Devonte was a physical force at Sioux Falls Roosevelt for coach Kim Nelson. His strength and leverage are two major traits that we look for at the nose guard spot."
Sam Muston (LB, 6-0, 190, Renner, S.D. / Baltic HS)
Sam Muston is a 6-foot, 190-pound linebacker out of Baltic High School. He was a 3-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Bulldogs under the direction of head coach Alan Baskerville. Muston won back-to-back team MVP honors, as was named to the academic all-state, 9AA All-State, and Argus Leader Elite 45 honorable mention team in 2018. He is the son of Jerry and Cathy Muston.
Dosch on Muston: "Sam was an impactful, productive player for coach Alan Baskerville at Baltic High School. His play-making ability and high football IQ will be a great fit at linebacker in our 3-4 scheme."
Isaac Olson (DB, 6-0, 170, Fargo, N.D. / Oak Grove Lutheran)
Isaac Olson is a 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back out of Oak Grove Lutheran. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Lumberjacks under the direction of head coach Melvin Whitney Jr. Olson recorded 89 tackles in his final two seasons, adding seven interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns. He was a 2-time North Dakota Class A All-Region first team selection and 2018 all-state second team pick. He is the son of Krista Olson.
Dosch on Olson: "We identified Isaac as a priority prospect early in the recruiting process, and he was our first commitment of the 2019 signing class. He is fast, rangy, and has long levers; a great combination needed to play cornerback."
Nick Olson (OL, 6-2, 270, Aberdeen, S.D. / Central HS)
Nick Olson is a 6-foot-2, 270-pound offensive lineman out of Central High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Golden Eagles under the direction of head coach Mitch Kranz. Olson was named to the 2018 Eastern South Dakota All-Conference team. He is the son of Nicole and Dallas Olson.
Dosch on Olson: "Nick was a standout lineman at Aberdeen Central for coach Mitch Kranz. He has the footwork, strength and pop we look for in offensive linemen. His lower body strength and size potential will transfer well to the college level."
William Perry (OL, 6-2, 285, Gilbert, Ariz. / Casteel HS)
William Perry is a 6-foot-2, 285-pound offensive lineman out of Casteel High School. He was a 2-year starter for the Colts under the direction of head coach Robert Newcombe. Perry was a 2-time academic team selection and a member of the 2017 all-region team. The Colts won the Arizona State Championship in 2017, going a perfect 14-0. He is the son of Tanya and Joey Perry.

Eddie Price (LB, 6-3, 215, Dell Rapids, S.D. / Dell Rapids HS)
Eddie Price is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker out of Dell Rapids High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Quarriers under head coach Jordan Huska. Price recorded 1,360 yards passing and 251 yards rushing in his senior campaign. He added 62 tackles, as well as 18 touchdowns. Price was a 2-time Dak-12 All-Conference recipient, 2018 11A All-State and Academic All-State selection, and a member of the Argus Leader Elite 45 honorable mention team. The Quarriers finished the 2018 season as the South Dakota 11A State Runner-up. He is the son of Brad and Tracie Price.

Caleb Schentzel (WR, 6-4, 190, Northville, S.D. / Northwestern HS)
Caleb Schentzel is a 6-foot-4, 190-pound wide receiver out of Northwestern High School. He was a 4-year starter and senior team captain for the Wildcats under the direction of head coach Ben Buisker. Schentzel recorded 1,111 yards receiving with 19 touchdowns, 940 yards rushing with ten touchdowns, and 428 yards passing with nine touchdowns in his career. Jacob Schloe (OL, 6-7, 275, Sauk Rapids, Minn. / Sauk Rapids Rice HS)
Jacob Schloe is a 6-foot-7, 275-pound offensive lineman out of Sauk Rapids Rice High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Storm under the direction of head coach Phillip Klaphake. Schloe recorded all-district honorable mention honors in 2017, and was named to the all-district team as the District Big Man of the Year in 2018. The Storm reached the section championship game in 2018. He is the son of Eric and Lorianne Schloe.
Dosch on Schloe: "Jacob was a standout lineman for coach Phillip Klaphake at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. He has an excellent frame and size potential, combined with a high football IQ and athleticism are what we look for at the offensive tackle position."
Clay Schmitz (WR, 6-3, 195, Gilbert, Ariz. / Perry HS)
Clay Schmitz is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound wide receiver out of Perry High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Pumas under the direction of head coach Preston Jones. Schmitz recorded 985 yards receiving with ten touchdowns in his three seasons, adding 75 tackles, 29 passes defended, and five interceptions in his senior season. Schmitz was a 2-time All-CUSD honorable mention selection and a member of the 2018 all-region second team. The Pumas were the 2017 and 2018 Arizona 6A State Runners-up. He is the son of Ronnie and Emily Schmitz.
Dosch on Schmitz: "Clay was a dominant two-way player for coach Preston Jones at Perry High School in Arizona. He is a dynamic playmaker who made impactful plays against the best competition in the state. He has natural football instincts and a tremendous skill set."
Justin Sedin (OL, 6-3, 245, Poplar, Wis. / Northwestern HS)
Justin Sedin is a 6-foot-3, 245-pound offensive lineman out of Northwestern High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Tigers under the direction of head coach Jovin Kroll. Sedin was selected to the 2018 Heart of the Northern All-Conference first team, and Superior Telegram All-Area team. The Tigers won the 2018 conference championship going 11-1 overall. He is the son of Shane and Amy Sedin.
Dosch on Sedin: "Justin excelled on the offensive and defensive line at Northwestern High School in Wisconsin. He plays fast, physical, and to the edge of the whistle on every snap."
Cole Siegfried (TE, 6-4, 210, Brandon, S.D. / Brandon Valley HS)
Cole Siegfried is a 6-foot-4, 210-pound tight end out of Brandon Valley High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Lynx under the direction of head coach Chad Garrow. Siegfried recorded 363 yards receiving and nine touchdowns as a junior and senior. He averaged 14.5 yards per reception in those two seasons. Siegfried was named to the 2017 Metro All-Conference honorable mention team, ESD All-Conference team, and all-state honorable mention team. As a senior, the Lynx won the South Dakota 11AAA State Championship and Siegfried was named to the all-state team. He is the son of Clayton and Peggi Siegfried.

Kellen Simmons (DB, 6-3, 195, Chandler, Ariz. / Perry HS)
Kellen Simmons is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound defensive back out of Perry High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Pumas under the direction of head coach Preston Jones. Simmons recorded 86 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two sacks as a senior. He was named to the All-CUSD honorable mention team and all-region second team. The Pumas finished as the Arizona State Runners-up in both 2017 and 2018. He is the son of Shelly and James Simmons.

Daylin Simon (RB, 6-2, 180, Warner, S.D. / Warner HS)
Daylin Simon is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound running back out of Warner High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Monarchs under head coach Kerwin Hoellein. Simon tallied 2,702 rushing yards, 876 receiving yards, and 44 touchdowns in his career. He added 138 tackles on defense, as well as 525 kick return yards with three touchdowns and 226 punt return yards. Simon was a 2-time All-Lake Region first team selection, the 2018 Lake Region Conference Offensive MVP, an all-state wide receiver, and all-state honorable mention running back. The Monarchs were the South Dakota State runners-up in his junior season. He is the son of Amanda and Brandon Thorpe and Printiss and Mandy Sizer.
Dosch on Simon: "We identified Daylin as a top prospect early in the process. He was a standout two-way player for coach Kerwin Hoellein's Warner Monarchs. Daylin is a dynamic back. He has the ability to run past, around and through defenders."
Brandon Steinhauer (OL, 6-2, 295, West Fargo, N.D. / West Fargo HS)
Brandon Steinhauer is a 6-foot-2, 295-pound offensive lineman out of West Fargo High School. He was a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Packers under the direction of head coach Jay Gibson. Steinhauer started 21 consecutive games as a junior and senior, and did not allow a sack in those two seasons. He was twice voted the West Fargo Offensive Lineman of the Year and was named to the 2018 Eastern Dakota All-Conference team. The Packers won the 2017 North Dakota AAA State Championship and were back-to-back EDC Champions in 2016 and 2017. He is the son of Jon and Colleen Steinhauer.

Justin Streit (WR, 6-4, 200, Watkins, Minn. / Eden-Valley Watkins HS)
Justin Streit is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound wide receiver out of Eden-Valley Watkins High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Eagles under the direction of head coach Adam Tri. As a senior, Streit tallied 822 yards receiving, averaging 13.9 yards per reception with ten touchdowns. Streit is a 2-time defensive lineman of the year and 2018 all-district selection. He is the son of Rich and Sue Streit, and brother of Wolves wide receiver
Jacob Streit.

Jacob Vetter (QB, 6-4, 200, Hawley, Minn. / Hawley High)
Jacob Vetter is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound quarterback out of Hawley High. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Nuggets under the direction of head coach Peder Naatz. Vetter tallied 3,352 career-passing yards and 752 career-rushing yards. He accumulated 40 touchdowns, with a 62.0 pass completion percentage. Vetter was a 2-time all-section and all-district selection. The Nuggets advanced to the section championship game in 2016, 2017, and 2018. He is the son of Bob and Carrie Vetter.
Dosch on Vetter: "Winning is something Jacob has been a part of his entire career at Hawley High School. He possesses great size, arm strength and agility. In addition, he has the leadership skills and unselfish personality that we look for in a quarterback."
Lynden Williams (DB, 6-2, 190, Huron, S.D. / Wolsey Wessington HS)
Lynden Williams is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound defensive back out of Wolsey Wessington High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Warbirds under the direction of head coach Gordon Hooks. As a senior, Williams recorded 2,088 yards rushing and 481 yards receiving with 24 touchdowns. He added 107 tackles, two sacks, and two blocked punts on defense. Williams was a 2-time All-Missouri Valley first team selection and a 2018 all-state and Argus Leader Elite 45 team member. The Warbirds won the 2016 South Dakota State Championship. He is the son of Lorenzo and Arynne Williams.

In addition to the 40 student-athletes signing national letters of intent, Northern will add six recruited walk-ons in the fall of 2019. Those individuals include Blayne Brink (LB - Gillette, Wyo.), Levi Cooper (ATH - Anoka, Minn.), Adam Durland (DL - Sioux Falls, S.D.), Nick Geffre (OL - Watertown, S.D.), Jacob Muhich (LB - Buffalo, Minn.), and Isaak Swartwout (DB - Baltic, S.D.).
