Wolves host Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State this weekend from Wachs Arena

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University Women's basketball team hosts Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State from Wachs Arena Friday and Saturday. Tip-off on Friday is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. against the Golden Eagles and 4 p.m. on Saturday against the Beavers.
 
Quick Hit on the Wolves:
 
    * The Northern State women's basketball team returns to Wachs Arena with a 6-8 record overall and 3-5 mark in the NSIC.
     * Northern opened the new year with a 52-41 victory over Metro State from Wachs Arena, and went 1-1 versus Upper Iowa and Winona State last weekend, notching a 61-42 victory over the Peacocks.
     * The women are shooting 40.2 percent from the floor, 33.2 percent from the 3-point line, and 69.7 percent from the foul line.
     * They are averaging 59.4 points, 38.7 rebounds, 12.4 assists, 14.1 turnovers, 4.1 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game this season.
     * NSU is out-scoring their opponents by just under a point per game, and out-rebounding their opponents by 8.9 boards per game.
     * Four Wolves are currently shooting 40.0 percent or better from the floor led by Zoe Hardwick with a 50.0 field goal percentage.
     * Brianna Kusler and Lexi Wadsworth are leading the team averaging 12.3 and 10.2 points per game respectively.
     * Kusler is also pulling down an NSIC leading 10.4 rebounds per game with 114 total this season, while Wadsworth in third on the team notching 6.0 rebounds per game.
     * In her first three games back, junior Jessi Marti is averaging 6.7 points per game, shooting 50.0 percent from the 3-point line.
     * Brooke Luitjens leads the team from the 3-point line with 19 made buckets, followed by Tori Mekash with 16 of her own. Luitjens has also dished out a team high 32 assists.
 
About Minnesota Crookston:

    * Minnesota Crookston enters the weekend with a 9-5 record overall and 5-4 mark in the NSIC.
     * The Golden Eagles are shooting 40.9 percent from the floor, 32.4 percent from the 3-point line, and 77.2 percent from the foul line, while averaging 68.9 points, 36.9 rebounds, 10.7 assists, 13.8 turnovers, 6.4 steals, and 2.7 blocks per game this season.
     * UMC is out-scoring their opponents by 0.3 points per game, and is being out-rebounded by 2.3 boards per game.
     * Isieoma Odor and Caitlin Michaelis lead UMC averaging 18.6 and 13.4 points per game respectively.
     * Odor is nearly notching a double-double with 9.3 rebounds per game, and leads the Golden Eagles shooting 51.9 percent from the floor.
     * Michaelis leads the team from 3-point land with 29 made buckets from beyond the arc.
     * Kylie Post is third on the team notching 9.6 points per game, and leads UMC with 32 assists and 24 steals thus far.
     * The Golden Eagles are led by head coach Mike Roysland in his 13th season with the program.
