Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University soccer team defeated University of Jamestown 3-0 in a non-conference game Tuesday night. NSU is now 2-0 on the short season.
Darian Leschewski netted the first goal of the night at the twenty-first minute of the match off a nice cross from
Shianne Rosselli. The Wolves took a 1-0 lead heading to the halftime break, out-shooting the Jimmies eight to seven.
Early in the second period
Stephany Estrada dribbled the ball down the left side of the field, took a shot from the top of the box and drove it pass the goalie to extend the Wolves lead to 2-0.
Tori Collesso scored the last goal for the Wolves at the 59:22 from an Estrada cross from the left side of the box.
Leschewski led the team with four shots on goal in the match. Estrada, Collesso, Rosselli,
Elise Benner, and
Mallory Schoenhard each recorded a shot on goal in the victory.
Jessica Otto picked up her second win on the season, finishing the game with three saves.
Northern returns to the pitch on Thursday for a 4 p.m. home match-up against Northwest Nazarene.
