Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University soccer team fell to Northwest Nazarene Thursday afternoon by the score of 2-1. Wolves drop to 2-1 heading into conference play.
Northwest Nazarene started the scoring early in the first half with a goal from the left side of the penalty box. Northern had some chances later in the first half but could not put a shot in the net. Wolves finished the half with two shots on goal.
The Wolves tied it up in the 52:55 minute, off the foot of
Shianne Rosselli, scoring her first goal of the season.
Darian Leschewski received the assist on the play. Northwest Nazarene answered with a goal in the 66:23 mark of the match to steal a victory from the Wolves.
Stephany Estrada recorded three out of the five shots on goal in the loss. Rosselli and Leschewski also received a shot on goal.
Jessica Otto took the loss in the net, recording nine saves.
Northern opens the conference season with a road contest against MSU Moorhead. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. against the Dragons.
