Aberdeen, S.D. – Shianne Rosselli scored the game winning goal with 7:17 left in the match to picked up the 3-2 win over Winona State. With the victory, the Wolves improve to 5-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play.
Northern State started the scoring 46 seconds into the match with a goal from
Stephany Estrada, her third of the season, the assist was recorded to Rosselli. NSU took the 1-0 lead into the intermission recording two shots on goal with one corner kick.
Winona State scored two goals early in the second half to take a 2-1 lead over the Wolves.
Emily Reiten provided a cross from the right side of the pitch to Rosselli standing in the penalty box to provide the equalizer with 21:11 left in the match. With 7:17 left in the match, Rosselli scored the game winner on a counter attack and kicked the ball from 15 yards out past the goalkeeper to take a late 3-2 lead and secure the victory.
Leading the way for the Wolves was Rosselli with two goals and one assist, finishing with a game high five points, and three shots on goal. Estrada finished recorded one goal on three shots.
Darian Leschewski tallied one shot on goal in the match. Reiten recorded one assist in the victory.
Lexie Montoya picked up her second victory of the season for the Wolves recording ten saves on the night.
Northern State returns to the pitch Sunday afternoon for a NSIC conference match-up against Upper Iowa. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. against the Peacocks.
