Late goals by Rosselli and Leschewski help Wolves defeat Mustangs in conference play

Marshall, Minn. – Goals by Shianne Rosselli and Darian Leschewski in the final ten minutes of the game pushes NSU past SMSU Friday night. With the victory the Wolves improve to 4-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play.
 
The Mustangs scored early in the first half to take an early 1-0 lead over the Wolves. Just before the equalizer, Emily Reiten put a shot on goal but hit the post. Shortly after at the 80:15 mark of the match the Wolves tied it up off the foot of Rosselli just outside the penalty box to tie the match at one. Eight minutes later off a counter attack Leschewski puts one in the back of the net to take a late lead on the road.
 
NSU had 15 corner kicks, as SMSU only tallied two in the match. The Wolves out-shot the Mustangs in the match 11-8 with seven of those shots being on goal. Leading the team in shots on goal was Leschewski with four, second on the team was Rosselli with two. Brittany Bills recorded the last shot on goal for the Wolves. Lexie Montoya picked up her first win of the season recording five saves out of the six shots she saw tonight.
 
Northern State will return to the pitch on Sunday afternoon at University of Sioux Falls to conclude this two game road trip. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. against the Cougars.
