Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University soccer team fell to Minot State Sunday afternoon by the final score of 3-0. After the loss, NSU moves to 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play.
Minot scored late in the first half off a shot from the top of the penalty box and snuck it past the goalie to take an early lead over the Wolves. Midway through the second half, Minot added another goal off a
Lexie Montoya save to extend the lead to 2-0. Minot added one more goal at the end of the match to take a 3-0 victory over NSU.
Leading the way for the Wolves was
Shianne Rosselli and
Catherine Nakae each taking three shots and each with one of those shot recorded on goal.
Emily Reiten tallied one shot on goal in two shot attempts.
Taylor Schumacher recorded the last shot on goal for the Wolves.
Wolves took 13 shots with four shots being on goal in the match. Montoya took the lost in the match recording eight save on 11 Minot State shots on goal.
NSU returns to the pitch on Friday September 21 as they hit the road for a NSIC conference match-up against Southwest Minnesota State. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. against the Mustangs.
