Winona Minn. – Northern State's big fourth quarter led the Wolves over the Winona State Warriors 70-63. The Wolves improve to 20-4 overall and 15-3 in the NSIC.
NSU had a 2-point advantage after the first quarter, leading 16-14, and continued to hold the 2-point lead heading into the intermission. Northern State shot 70.0 percent from the floor in the first half. NSU was trailing by one heading into the fourth quarter 49-50, however the Wolves out-scored the Warriors in the final ten minutes, 21-13, picking up the 7-point win.
The Wolves shot a season high 62.2 percent from the floor, 66.7 percent from behind the arc, and a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Defensively, NSU allowed 47.1 percent from the floor, 45.0 percent from the three-point line, and 17 rebounds. Northern State also tallied, 32 points in the paint, 16 points off of 13 Warrior turnovers, and 17 bench points.
Miranda Ristau lead the Wolves with 23 points, while adding six rebounds, four assists, and one block.
Jill Conrad was the second player in double figures with 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Haley Froelich put in six points, three rebounds, and one assist, while
Jessi Marti lead the Wolves in assists with seven. Marti added three points and three rebounds to the team total.
The last starter in the scorebook for the Wolves was
Brianna Kusler, who recorded two points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
Alexis Tappe led the Wolves off the bench with 11 points and two rebounds.
Brynn Flakus notched four points and one assist for NSU, while
Alayna Johnson tallied two points for the Wolves.

Anika Fredrick each had one assist off the bench.
The Wolves are back in action next weekend, as they hit the road to face Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State. Tip-off against the Golden Eagles on Friday is set for 6 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday against the Beavers.
