Crookston, Minn. – The Northern State University women's basketball team dropped a close one to Minnesota Crookston by a final of 54-61. Wolves drop to 3-5 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.
A total of 43 points were scored in the first quarter, as the Wolves trailed the Golden Eagles by a score of 20-23. Wolves recorded a 12-2 run over five minutes in the second quarter but headed into the intermission down one point. In the first half, the Wolves shot 38.2 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from behind the arc, and 24 team rebounds.
A back-and-forth third quarter as each team tallied runs and NSU trailed by three heading into the final quarter. With 6:08 left in the fourth quarter, Mekash drilled a three to tie the game. Kusler tied the game with two free-throws with 1:48 left in the game before Crookston finished the game with a 7-0 run.

Lexi Wadsworth finishing the game with 18 points, seven rebounds, and one steal.
Brianna Kusler finished one point and one rebound short of a double-double finishing with nine points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Sara Tvedt tallied six point, seven rebounds, and two assists.
Brooke Luitjens tallied five points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in the loss.
Anika Fredrick was the last starter for NSU picking up four points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Tori Mekash finished the game off the bench with six points.
Alayna Johnson tallied three points, three rebounds, and three assists off the bench.
Kendall Kohler was the last Wolves player in the scoring column finishing with three points and one assist.
Zoe Hardwick finished the game with two rebounds.
Wolves return to action next weekend at Wachs Arena for a NSIC weekend. Friday the Wolves will host the Beavers of Minot State with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m and Saturday the Marauders of University of Mary come into town, with tip-off scheduled at 4 p.m.
