Sioux Falls, S.D. - The Northern State University swimming team finished the Augustana Triangular with three first place finishes from
Hannah Kastigar in the 200 medley, 200 breastroke, and the 100 fly.
NSU placed third place in the 800 free relay by the team of
Cassandra Maillet,
Ashley Dunn,
Josie Gillund, and Kastigar with the finishing time of 8:16.20. The team of
Maida Walters, Gillund,
Sierra Ohm, and Kasitgar placed in the top three with a time of 1:43.42. In the 400 yard medley relay the Wolves finished in the top five with the team of
Lexie Malimanek, Maillet,
Kenna Smith, and
Maida Walters finishing with a time of 4:28.45.
Gillund also finished in the top five with a fifth place finish in the 50 free with a time of 25:98, a fifth place finish in the 1000 free with a time of 11:34.49, and a third place finish in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 33:79. Gillund last competed in the 100 free and finished in the top three with a time of 56.64. NSU as a team fell short against University of Mary of 259-167 and 116-292 to Augustana University.
NSU returns to the pool next weekend in Marquette, Michigan as they will compete in the Northern Michigan/St. Cloud State double dual on October 12th. First event will start at 6 p.m. against the Wildcats and Huskies.
