Wolves Soccer picks up third road win of the season, defeat Golden Bears 1-0

St. Paul, Minn. – Jessica Otto tallied ten saves and her third shutout of the season as the Wolves defeated the Golden Bears by a final score of 1-0. With the win, NSU improves to 8-7-1 overall and 6-6-1 in conference play.
 
At the 26:25 minute of the first half off a great assist off a set piece by Tori Thorpe, Stephany Estrada put the ball in the top left corner of the net to score the only goal of the game. Northern State finished the first half with three shots, six saves, and one corner shot.
 
At the 62:12 mark of the match, Karli Harney recorded a shot on goal but the save was recorded by the Golden Bears goalie. The Wolves finished with two shots on goal on five shots taken, one corner kick, and 16 shots faced with no goals allowed.
 
Otto was perfect in the match today facing ten shots on goal by the Golden Bears. Estrada recorded one goal in the match on the assist by Thorpe. Harney recorded one shot on goal in the match and Darian Leschewski took three shots in the victory.
 
Northern State will finish the three game road trip at Minnesota Crookston on Friday October 26 at 2 p.m. against the Golden Eagles. Then they return home for the final game of the regular season on Sunday afternoon against #3 Bemidji State, kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. against the Beavers.
