Wolves Soccer drop road match against #23 Minnesota Mankato

Mankato, Minn. – The Northern State University soccer team fell short to #23 Minnesota Mankato on the road by the score of 1-0. With the loss, they drop to 7-7-1 overall and 5-6-1 in conference play.
 
NSU picked up two corner kicks midway through the first half, and finished with the first half with two corner kicks. At the 60:31 part of the match, NSU created an opportunity off a corner kick but the header by Vanessa Mejia was high of the goal. The Mavericks scored shortly after at the 64:12 part of the match off the foot of Wendell. Tori Thorpe recorded a shot on goal at the 74:06 part of the match but a save was made by the Maverick goalkeeper.
 
Shortly after a shot by Tori Collesso was blocked and the provided a corner kick. Estrada, Thorpe, and Nakae picked up those three shots on goal in the match for the Wolves. Jessica Otto was in net for the Wolves picking up 13 saves in the match while only allowing one goal.
 
Northern State returns to the pitch Sunday afternoon in the middle game of the road trip against Concordia-St. Paul. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. against the Golden Bears.
