Aberdeen, S.D. – The No. 14 Northern State University volleyball team was put to the test facing off against No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul from Wachs Arena. The Wolves fell in the match, 3-0, with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-16. Northern drops to 13-2 on the year and 6-1 in the NSIC.
The Wolves hit .105 in the match with 29 kills, 28 assists, 50 digs, four blocks, and one service ace. The held the Golden Bears under .300, as CSP hit .286 in the match with 12 errors.
Jenna Reiff led the offense with eight kills, followed by
Holly Vancura and
Laura Snyder with six kills each. Reiff also hit a team leading .235 in the match.
Morgan Baufield and
Regan Dennis notched four and three kills respectively, while
Lexi Lockhart and
Ashley Rozell each tallied one. Rozell notched 25 total assists in the match.
Vancura led the Wolves defense with 11 digs, followed by
Lexi Boesl and
Jaiden Langlie with nine and eight digs each. Rozell and
Alyssa Deobler were fourth on the team with seven digs apiece. Baufield led the team at the net with three blocks, while Dennis notched two.
The Wolves return to Wachs Arena next Friday and Saturday, facing off against Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State. First is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday against the Cougars, and 2 p.m. on Saturday versus the Mustangs.
