Mankato, Minn. – In their final cross divisional game of the season, the Northern State University football team fell to No. 8 Minnesota State 36-0. The Wolves drop to 1-3 overall, while the Mavericks improve to 4-0.
 
The Wolves were overpowered by the nationally ranked Mavericks, ad MSU tallied touchdowns in three of the four quarters. Northern notched 83 yards rushing and 133 yards passing, while Minnesota State tallied 254 yards rushing and 158 yards passing. The Wolves averaged 11.1 yards per completion, while the Mavericks averaged just 8.8.
 
Jake Comeaux threw for 91 yards with nine completions and a 24 yard long to Zech Culbreath. Hunter Trautman entered in the fourth quarter and threw for 42 yards on three completions, including a 27 yard long to Robert Vomacka. Nicholas Truen led the rushing attack with 38 yards, averaging 3.2 yards per carry. Culbreath and Cody Kraft led the NSU receivers with 32 yards each.
 
Noah Macpherson led the Wolves defense with eight tackles, followed by Preston Droessler with seven. Droessler notched two tackles for a total loss of eight yards, including the Wolves lone sack. Josh Coyle and Alex Gray each notched six tackles, while Chance Olson and Quest Parham tallied five apiece.
 
On special teams, Jacob Wiedrich averaged 33.6 yards per punt with a 56 yard long. Wiedrich punted for a total of 235 yards. Zachery Barber recorded all three kick returns for 44 yards, including an 18 yard long.
