Bismarck, N.D. - The Northern State University Soccer team wrapped up their regular season schedule with a loss to University of Mary, 3-1. NSU finishes the year with an overall record of 5-10-2 and a NSIC record of 4-9-2.
U-Mary jumped on the board first with a goal early in the first half. The Marauders added two more goals during the second half, taking the 3-0 lead.
The Wolves added a goal of their own at the 89:16 mark when
Nicole Griffith connected with
Sydney Shintaffer off of a corner kick. Shintaffer headed the ball past the Marauder keeper. The Wolves however were unable to overcome the three goal deficit and ultimately fell in the game.
Shintaffer led the team with the lone goal on her only shot of the game. Catherine Nakae and
Shianne Rosselli each recorded one shot and one shot on goal, while
Mallory Schoenhard added one shot on the day.
Alison Byrd finished the year leading the team with 29 shots, 11 shot on goals, one goal, and one assist, while Rosselli came in second with 28 shots, 11 shots on goal, four goals, and two assist.
Justine Charles tallied six saves on the day finishing the season with 109 saves and a record of 5-9-2 with two-shut outs on the season.
