Wolves Nab 3-1 Road Win over Bemidji State

Bemidji, Minn. – The No. 11 Northern State University volleyball team returned to their winning ways Friday evening, defeating Bemidji State on the road. The Wolves improve to 17-3 overall and 10-2 in the NSIC following the win.
 
Northern took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-16, however fell in the third 27-25 as the Beavers rallied back from a 14-9 deficit mid-way through the set. NSU got off to a quick start in the third set, going on a 12-1 run, propelled by seven kills from Jenna Reiff, Laura Snyder, and Hailey Busch. The Wolves ultimately took the set 25-10, sealing the 3-1 match victory.
 
The Wolves hit .383 as a team with 61 kills, while Bemidji Stat hit .179 with 48 kills. Northern added 56 assists, four service aces, 52 digs, and five blocks in the win. BSU matched the Wolves dig total, however tallied five aces and seven team blocks.
 
Jenna Reiff led the Northern State offense with 18 kills, while hitting a team second best .500. Snyder led the team in attack percentage with a .516 mark, while notching a team second best 17 kills. Hailey Busch was the final Wolf in double figures with ten kills.
 
Ashley Rozell dished out 49 assists, averaging 12.25 assists per set. The sophomore added eight digs, two kills, and one block for the team. Holly Vancura and Morgan Baufield rounded out the team kill total with eight and five respectively.
 
Vancura led the team defensive with 15 digs, followed closely by Jaiden Langlie with 14. Lexi Boesl added seven digs and one assist, appearing in all four sets for the Wolves. Busch tallied five digs in the defensive effort, while Snyder notched two. Reiff, Snyder, and Baufield led the team at the net with two blocks each.
 
The Wolves return to action tomorrow afternoon against Minnesota Crookston. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. against the Golden Eagles.
