?Sioux Falls, S,D, - The Northern State women's basketball team will continue their journey in the NSIC Championships playing in the quarterfinals against Wayne State College. The Wolves defeated Southwest Minnesota State 79-52 in the first round to advance in the tournament. NSU is now 22-6 overall.
It was a team effort for the Wolves in taking down Southwest State, as they shot 50.8 percent from field goal range, 75.0 percent from the three-point arc and 60.0 percent from the foul line. Northern had four players scoring in double-digits, as
Lauren Deadrick led the way with 15 points.
Devon Brecke and
Miranda Ristau each tallied 14 points, while
Jill Conrad ended the night with 11 total.
The Wolves ended regular season action second in the league in field goal percentage (42.9) and assists (16.0) and led the NSIC in rebounding defense (32.2) and rebounding margin (+8.8).
NSU will tip-off against Wayne State at 12 p.m. on Sunday from the Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.. The quarterfinal games will be broadcasted through the NSIC Stretch Portal webpage, while the semifinal and championship games will be aired on Midco Sports Network.
