Multiple Wolves Notch Career Highs in 88-61 Victory over Bemidji State

Bemidji, Minn. – The Northern State University men's basketball team notched their second NSIC victory of the season, taking down Bemidji State University, 88-61, on the road. The Wolves improve to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in league action with the win.
 
Northern led the entire 40 minutes of play scoring 37 points in the first and 51 points in the second. They held their largest lead of the game, 31 points, with just over two minutes remaining in the second half. NSU shot 53.6 percent from the floor, propelled by a 70.8 percent mark in the final 20 minutes of play. The Wolves also tallied 11 made 3-point baskets and 17 points off free throws, shooting 44.0 percent from the arc and 89.5 percent from the foul line.
 
As a team, NSU tallied 32 points in the paint, 36 points off the bench, 13 points off turnovers, and eight second chance points. They out-rebounded the Beavers 33-27 in the game, and gave up 11 turnovers to Bemidji's 15. Defensively, Northern held BSU to a 41.8 percent mark from the floor and 18.8 percent mark from the arc.
 
Bo Fries led five scorers in double-digits with a career high 18 points in the win. Fries notched a team leading six made 3-pointers and added four rebounds and one assist. Mack Arvidson and DJ Pollard were second and third on the team with 14 and 13 points respectively. Pollard notched a team leading eight rebounds and added three assists.
 
Logan Doyle and Ian Smith rounded out the players in double figures with ten points each. Smith led the team with yet another career high, dishing out six assists in the win. Carter Evans and Justin Decker combined for 15 points, while Cole Dahl added a career high eight points tallying the final scores off the bench. Doyle was second on the team with seven rebounds, as seven players notched multiple boards.
 
The Wolves will return to action tomorrow from Minnesota Crookston, facing off against the Golden Eagles at 6 p.m. following the women's game.
