Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men's basketball team will remain at home this Friday and Saturday for week two of the NSIC seasons against Minot State and the University of Mary. The Wolves will tip-off with the Beavers at 8 p.m. on Friday and with the Marauders at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The men will also be signing autographs post-game on Saturday.
Northern enters the second week of NSIC action after going 1-1 to close out November, defeating Mayville State and falling to MSU Moorhead. The Wolves battled back against the Dragons scoring 62 points in the second half and shooting 71.4% from the floor. The comeback was in large part to
Mack Arvidson who knocked down 37 points, 28 in the second half, and scored what would have been the game winning 3 with just 2.5 seconds left in regulation. Northern is currently shooting 51.0% from the floor, 42.7% from the arc, and 70.6% from the foul line, while averaging 84.4 points, 36.4 rebounds, 13.7 assists, 14.7 turnovers, 3.6 steals and 3.1 blocks per game. Arvidson is leading the team averaging 20.0 points per game, scoring 58 a week ago. The senior is also shooting 53.1% from the floor and a team leading 52.5% from the arc with 31 made 3-point baskets this season.
Logan Doyle leads the Wolves on the boards, averaging 9.7 rebounds per game, with two double-doubles this season.
