Billings, Mont. – The Northern State University women's basketball team recorded a comeback victory for their second win of the 2016-17 season in tonight's contest against Montana State, Billings. After trailing for a majority of the game, the Wolves went on to defeat the Yellow Jackets 72-67. NSU is now 2-0 overall, while MSUB falls to 0-4 on the year.
The Wolves and the Yellow Jackets battled back and forth through the first quarter, exchanging six lead changes and two ties. Northern State maintained a 15-13 lead nine minutes into the contest, however headed into half time down 32-37.

Miranda Ristau tied the game 63-63 with 3:25 remaining in the fourth quarter to change the momentum for the Wolves. NSU went on a 9-4 run in the final three minutes to seal the five-point victory.  
NSU outshot Montana State, Billings shooting 54.2 percent from field goal range, 46.7 percent from the three-point arc and 72.2 percent from the foul line. As a team, the Wolves tallied 36 points in the paint, 14 points off of turnovers and six second chance points. Northern State also outrebounded the Yellow Jackets both offensively and defensively, collecting 28 total.
Miranda Ristau led the Wolves for the second-consecutive game with a career-high 25 points and seven rebounds. The junior knocked down nine field goals and seven free throws and also recorded four of the team's five blocks, with one steal.
Jill Conrad assisted the Wolves with 24 points of her own. Conrad went 9-14 from the floor and 4-4 from the foul line. 
Gabby Laimer led NSU from the three-point arc, sinking three of six total attempts for nine points in the game. 
Bethany Crosswait and 
Paige Waytashek each had five and six assists respectively to aid the Wolves' offense.
Northern State will continue action at 4 p.m. tomorrow against Black Hills State from the Yellow Jacket Classic.
