Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men's basketball team will hit the road this weekend for a pair of non-conference match-ups with members of the RMAC. Northern will tip-off each night at 7 p.m., facing Chadron State on Friday and Black Hills State on Saturday.
 
The Wolves enter the weekend after a 1-point mid-week loss to Southwest Minnesota State at home, bringing their season record to 1-2 overall. Northern shot a game leading 62.2% from the floor and out rebounded the Mustangs 32-17, however they gave up 27 points off turnovers in the loss.  The Wolves are shooting 49.1% from the floor, 28.6% from the arc, and 76.2% from the foul line through the first three games of the year. The Wolves were also averaging 80.7 points, 35.3 rebounds, 10.0 assists, 18.3 turnovers, 3.3 steals, and 3.0 blocks per game.  NSU has six players shooting 40% or better from the floor, led by Carter Evans with an 82.4% mark in three games played.  Mack Arvidson is leading the team averaging 16.0 points per game, scoring in double-digits in every outing this season. He is also leading the team in 3-point field goals made (3.3), assists (2.0), and steals (1.0). Logan Doyle sits atop the team in rebounds averaging 6.0 per game, including 3.7 offensive boards.
 
About the Eagles
     • Chadron State enters the weekend 0-1 after a loss to Bellevue on Tuesday.
     • CSC was picked 14th in the RMAC preseason poll, as they return two starters from 2015-16.
     • Gordon Warren led the team in the season opener with 27 points including 18 from beyond the arc.
     • The Eagles are led by head coach Houston Reed in his first season with the program. Reed is a Northern State alum.
 
Last Match-Up
     • The Wolves defeated the Eagles 83-63 from Wachs Arena in 2015-16.
     • Mack Arvidson led the team with 18 points as the Wolves shot 52.8% from the floor and 59.1% from the arc.

     • As a unit, the Yellow Jackets are shooting 30.4% from the floor, 22.7% from the arc, and 76.1% from the foul line.
     • The Yellow Jackets are led by head coach Jeff Trumbauer in his third season with the program.
