Minot, N.D. – The Northern State University soccer team concluded regular season play this afternoon falling to No. 11 Minot State 1-0 on the road. With the loss, the Wolves end NSIC action with a 7-8-0 record, while the Beavers clinch the conference title with a 14-0-1 record. Northern State earned a seventh place finish in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings.
No. 11 Minot State was first to break the scoring barrier in the match, recording a goal at the 15 minute mark. Ninfa Ramirez collected a rebounded shot and found Chloe Melton near the net. Melton struck the ball past senior goalkeeper, 
Stacey Cavill, to give the Beavers a 1-0 advantage.
Although the Northern State defense held No. 11 Minot State through the entire second half, the game would expire with a 1-0 final in favor of the Beavers.
NSU was outshout 19-9 in the match, accumulating two shots on goal as a team. 
Darian Leschewski led the Northern State offense with six shots, with one of which being on target for goal. Senior 
Anna Bondy recorded the second NSU shot on goal in the 90 minute match.
In the net for the Wolves, 
Stacey Cavill collected seven saves with just one goal allowed against an offense that averages 2.353 goals per game.
Northern State will advance to the NSIC Tournament for the first time since 2009. The Wolves will take on the No. 2 seeded Minnesota State at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2
